Carrying a Card
I am a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta. Can you believe it? I still feel a little dazed by my most recent political move even though it makes sense. Since Alberta is sure to elect another Conservative Premier I thought it might be a good idea to have a say in who leads the PC party. With the likes of crazy, kooky Ted Morton running around talking about how he hates the Charter, I have to make sure that I have an active role in ensuring he stays on the farm where he belongs. So, I will be voting for the new leader in the next few weeks. Someone asked me if this now means that when the actual election comes around I will vote PC. I didn’t even have to think about that one – no. I have taken great steps by accepting reality and working within it but I’m not there yet. I’m just doing my part to ensure that the right moves as far left as possible.

Dear Jackass who leaves nasty and anonymous messages to strangers for no apparent reason.
Why don't you grow up and write about something you know because you clearly don't know Caroline. If you did you would know that she holds her opinions very dear but also is incredibly respectful of others and their opinions. She is intelligent, thoughtful, creative, energetic and certainly NONE of the things you listed in your enraged and completely inappropriate comments.
Next time you decide to leave comments like this on Caroline’s or any one else website why don’t you try taking your balls out of your purse and leave your name. Coward.
You're right. I completely retract my previous statement and unreservedly aplogize for it. It was done in a bout of anger over he "Kooky" remark. If she wishes to delete my posting she is welcome to do so.
Well done!

Ok, all drama aside, (anonymous, I sense a lot of hostility, chill buddy-) HOW ARE YOU??? I looked, and it's your turn to email. It's been far too long. If I don't hear from you, expect a 10 page email sometime in the near future:)
Missing You!!
The internet is a haven for bizarro hate-mongering libertarian types... truly sad.
But why I really wanted to comment here was to say: What?! You bought in?! Why, Caroline in the City, why?!
Just watch out for the Dinning hangover on January 1, when our membership runs out. Promise us you'll never buy another!

As an aside, we don't think anything untowards in terms of instant tories like Caroline. Many good people have similar feelings (although they lack conservative moral fibre). We also like her blog, hence our presence here.
We do, however, disagree with the assertion that the only way to combat apathy and work for change in the province is through the conservative party. Where we come from, buying a membership implies commitment. Instant Tories may (and will) do what they may, but buying into the party is buying into the idea of the one-party state.
It's that notion we find unsettling.
